Portsmouth Dem clambake prizes and auction goodies

Clambake Auction 2007
Council President Dennis Canario emcees the auction at last year's Democratic clambake.

Just a reminder that the Portsmouth Democratic clambake is this Sunday, Sept. 7, and a partial list of the door prizes and auction items was released today. According to sources familiar with the event, there will be hundreds of dollars of great stuff, donated by wonderful folks in the community (who you should, of course, support with your patronage. Hint, hint.) Take a look:

Framed artwork of Paradise Valley, $200 value, donated by Joe Matoes of Middletown; bottle of 40-year-old green crème de mint, $100.00 value; Goode Spirits of Middletown, $100 in gift certificates from Pizza Wave in Bristol; A twosome (with cart) at Green Valley Country club; Private tour and tasting for 10 people at Greenvale Vineyards; lube and filter change from Sacucci Lincoln Mercury; a beautiful hardcover book, "The Democratic Party: A Photographic History" donated by Marge Levesque and Rich Gottleib. There are gift certificates from 15 Point Restuarant, Chase Deli and Pizza, Carmella's, Steve's Famous Pizza, Foodworks, Cindy's Country Cafe, Graziano's 501 Cafe, McGovern's restaurant in Fall River, Anthony's seafood in Middletown, Leo's Fmaily Ristorante, the Blue Plate Diner, tour and tasting for 2 at the Newport Winery, a bird feeder from Domina’s Agway, a case of motor oil from NAPA of Middletown, 2 plants of your choice from the Rhode Island Nursery, 1 house pass from the Newport Preservation Society, a buoyancy belt from Aquidneck Pools & Spas, and a $25 gift card from Stop & Shop of Middletown.

With more to come from Newport Grand, Beach Party Swimwear, Maplewood Farm, Island Garden Shop, Super Cuts of Middletown, Frosty Freeze Ice Cream, and (our family favorite) Ernie’s American Karate.

All these door prizes and great auction bargains on top of a wonderful New England clambake. Not to be missed. Get your tickets today at the PA Club, Allen’s Wine and Spirits, Ferreira’s Package Store, or by calling our own State Senator Chuck Levesque at 847-2510.
