Inside the writer's brain.
Over at RI Future, Matt Jerzyk has been following up on a piece he did about the Housing Resources Commission (HRC) for the Providence Phoenix, and it's an unsurprising "only in Rhode Island" story, with a small group of players and overlap between leadership of the HRC and one of its major funding recipients, the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC). For example:
Further, of the roughly $12 million in Bond Funds that have been allocated, 68% went to organizations that are LISC “partners” and 23% went to organizations who have members that sit directly on the Housing Bond sub-committee. Thus, in total, 91% of the funds went to what you might call “insiders.”

Worth taking a peek to get the lay of the land and read the robust discussion.
h/t Matt. Thanks for the update.
