Local agriculture will be the topic for an evening of presentations and discussion next Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Pennfield School on Sandy Point Ave in Portsmouth. The evening will be moderated by Ted Clement of the Aquidneck Land Trust, and feature presentations from local farmers and discussion about the benefits and importance of agriculture here on the Island. The event runs from 7-8:30pm, and is free and open to the public.
Portsmouth's own Louis Escobar will be on the program talking about Rhody Fresh Milk, as well as folks from Newport Vineyards, Swiss Farm Village, and Aquidneck Farms.
We have a great agricultural tradition — and a deep commitment to open space — here on the Island. This sounds like a great opportunity to learn more. Hope to see you there.
