Sen. Reed hosts college aid workshop

Sen. Jack Reed will be hosting his 19th annual college financial aid workshop this coming Monday, Nov 23, at the Lincoln campus of Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), according to an e-mail from his office. The 90-minute workshop will feature Q&A and panelists from the RI Higher Education Authority, the College Planning Center of RI, the RI Association of Student Financial Aid administrators, and the RI Society of Certified Public Accountants.

"This workshop teaches students and parents about their options so kids do not miss out on the opportunity to receive financial aid," Reed said in a statement. "It is never too early to begin planning your financial aid strategy, and, as with everything related to getting a good education, it pays to do your homework."

The workshop is from 7-8:30pm at the Flanagan Campus of CCRI, 1762 Louisquisset Pike in Lincoln, room 2706. You can RSVP on Reed's web site.

And for Portsmouth High School parents, Principal Robert Littlefield announced on his listserv today that there will be a financial aid night on Thursday, Dec. 3 in the PHS auditorium.
